Write, Right, Left

February 10, 2009
Stationery shops here catch my attention because all of the spiral binders are bound on the right; Hebrew reads from right to left. In my mind I try to flip the pages and imagine what the binder would look like if the “real” front were the front. Today, I realized that I should bring a bunch of these binders back with me. As a lefty, it is much easier for me to write with the wire spiral on the right, both in terms of legibility and pain in my writing hand from pressing on the binding. Then it occurred to me that I could simply use left-sided binders and flip them over so that the back would become the front. Maybe it will be easier to bring them from Israel.
