Justice, Justice

Take a virtual tour of the Supreme Court of Israel or better yet, come to Jerusalem to experience how the poetry and philosophy of justice have been expressed in the extraordinary building. But even without a tour, consider how the force of justice plays out in Israel, whether from Biblical times or in contemporary life. God chose Abraham to command his children and his household after him, and they will keep God's way, doing tzedakah and mishpat (justice and right) (Gen 18:19). Or in Deuteronomy 16:20, “justice, justice, you shall pursue.” To today, when the Court has ordered changes in the path of the security fence, trying to find justice in balancing the security needs of Israel with the basic rights of Arabs displaced by the fence.
